Who are we?
Bautista Operations/Instructor The man behind all those scheduling emails. Bautista is an Industrial Design graduate from Carleton University who spends his summers teaching at Backyard Aquatics and enjoying the weather. He's been teaching and running Backyard Aquatics for the past four years and prior to that he taught at the Bradford Community Pool. When he's not near the pool you can find him backpacking on the other side of the world or climbing some rocks! |
Amparo Instuctor/Lifeguard The youngest sibling in the family, Amparo has been part of Backyard Aquatics since it's conception. Amparo is entering her second year at Trent University where she studies BioMed, with dreams of becoming a vet! She has been teaching lessons for the past three seasons and also lifeguards all your pool parties! For the past eight years she has been swimming with the Markham Synchro Club and now with Trent. When she's not near the pool, she can be found volunteering at the local animal shelter or reading a book with too many pages. |
Jamie
Instructor/Lifeguard
New to Backyard Aquatics, Jamie is excited to become a part of the team. In the Fall Jamie is beginning her post-secondary studies at the Royal College of Surgeons of Ireland studying medicine.
Jamie has been lifeguarding and instructing since 2018 at public pools across the City of Markham. In her last year she took on a new role leading the adapted aquatics program for children with learning/physical disabilities. She has also been swimming with the Markham Synchro Club for eleven years, and coaching for the past 4 years. When she's not at the pool you might find her baking something delicious!
